1. Overview
At Lorna’s Bakes, everything is freshly baked to order. Because our products are perishable food items, returns are generally not possible, except where required by Irish/EU consumer law (e.g., faulty or incorrect items).
This policy explains how collection works and your rights regarding refunds.
2. Collection Only (No Shipping)
All orders made through lornasbakes.com must be collected in person from our designated collection point.
You will receive a confirmation email of:
- Your collection date
- Collection time window
- Collection address
Please ensure you collect your order at the agreed time, as products are perishable and made specifically for you.
3. No Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period Exemption)
Under EU consumer law, the usual 14-day right to cancel does not apply to:
- Perishable goods
- Items made to order
- Custom or personalised products
Because all our cakes and baked goods are fresh, time-sensitive, and made to your order, you cannot cancel once your order has been confirmed, unless we agree otherwise at our discretion.
4. Amendments to Orders
If you need to change your order or collection time, please contact us as soon as possible.
We’ll do our best to help, but changes cannot be guaranteed once preparation has begun.
5. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Orders
We take great care to ensure your order is correct and in perfect condition at collection.
If your order is:
- Incorrect, or
- Faulty / not as described
please contact us on the same day of collection with:
- Your order number
- Details of the issue
- Photos (if applicable)
Where a product is faulty or incorrect, we will offer:
- A replacement, or
- A refund to your original payment method
at no cost to you.
6. No Returns for Food Safety Reasons
For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of any food items unless they are faulty at the time of collection.
Once items have left the collection point, we cannot take them back.
7. Refunds (If Approved)
If a refund is approved under this policy, we will process it to your original payment method within 14 days.
Refunds cannot be given for:
- Change of mind
- Failure to collect on time
- Items damaged after collection
- Personal taste preferences
8. Missed Collections
Because products are perishable, missed collection times may result in:
- The product spoiling
- Loss of quality
- Inability to remake the order on short notice
Refunds cannot be provided for missed or late collections.
If you know you will be late, please contact us as soon as possible—if we can accommodate a new time, we will do our best.
